So many changes, be very careful. Only true medical/nursing on site is a LPN NO RN. Person in charge was the janitor, scary. Good news is the food is good and the locked unit is safe.

The reviews on the web site for this facility are very misleading. (Of course, any place that posts reviews that are all 5 stars is a bit questionable. Of course, they will post all of the positive ones, but none of the negative.) Regarding the facility itself - it appears clean, but has a very odd smell to it. It is an older facility with not very amenities or common places for the residents to mingle or relax. There is only one garden area which is not an option in the very hot or very cold months of the year. As far as activities, the place is very small with minimal areas in which to do things and the activities are at a minimum. So, if you are looking to keep your loved one active and engaged, it this isn't the place. What they call the 'rehab area' is a closed off room with 3 very old looking pieces of equipment that they say is leased by an outside company. If your loved one does need rehab of some sort, I would suggest looking for another option as what is in that room doesn't look like anything that would provide rehab services. The furniture and decor is VERY outdated and looks as if it was put together with garage sale items thrown into the place just for the sake of having something the in the rooms. There is no rhyme or reason as to the decorating scheme, as if you can call it that at all. Value - well it is cheaper, but with anything else in life, you get what you pay for. Spend a few extra bucks and go elsewhere. Staff seemed friendly, but not very engaging with the residents. Activities were limited at best. They say they try to engage all residents. That is questionable and hard to determine, especially if your loved one cant communicate sufficiently to let you know if they participated or not.

My 95-year old mother lived in the Assisted Living portion of Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg from the end of February until the beginning of September 2015. The service deteriorated during this period until my wife and I finally decided to move her to a another facility. The three major problems were the medical care, the responsiveness and the food. [removed] Lack of staff - especially on the night shifts - resulted in wait times of one-half to three-quartes of an hour for a response to her call pendent. Fortunately none of these were for emergency situations. The food was just not good, and my Mom's biggest realization was how much better the meals were in her new assisted living facility. Most of the issues were personnel related. The entire management team was replaced in August, and the new director lasted less than a month before she resigned. The individual care-givers were pleasant, but most were inexperienced and there was a high turnover rate. We pay a little more for her new facility, but we feel more comfortable and Mom is much happier there.

Recently I made arrangements to move my father to Greenfield in Spotsylvania. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful right up until things went horribly wrong. -They did not inventory or label the items I brought for his room. -They did not inventory his person to make sure he was not bringing in anything dangerous. Since my father has dementia, he still had his wallet, keys, and two pocket knives. One of which he used to threaten a staff member and the other he used to dismantle a window on his 2nd day and he eloped. This facility left him in the ER of the local hospital for 18 hours insisting my father must have PTSD or some other issue other than Dementia because of the violent 'fight or flight' behavior he was showing. I feel this is irresponsible. I told them my father was RECON USMC. I told them he would be combative. I don't understand why they didn't label his belongings or screen him upon entry. I don't understand why they would not take him back from the ER once he had calmed down. They left him there and refused to take him back. It was a nightmare for me and my family to have to pick him up from that ER and find a way to care for him while we found another facility. In the week that followed, I waited and waited for them to contact me with a plan for their own psychiatrist to evaluate him. I called them every day to ask. After a full week I was told their psychiatrist would not evaluate him, and I would need to get a 3rd party licensed psychiatrist involved, even though he had received two evaluations at the hospital and they deemed it was just the Dementia, and no underlying psychiatric problems were detected. Finally, after a few weeks, I received my un-cashed check in the mail. But there was no letter or note or anything in the envelope. Just my check. And a few days after, I got a bill for the 2 days my father was there.

Took my mother out after 4months. It's basically a jail sentence. Made to get up by 6am and breakfast is not served until 8 30. Mom hated the food , no options. They have a hair salon but do not use it , I had to cut mom's hair. No activities, they promote activities but do not do any, mom was bored and became depressed. Facility not clean, her clothes were lost in the laundry. Mom complained that staff was rude to her and I had to constantly get her medications corrected. I do NOT recommend.

This place is no longer a Memory Care Facility. We had to move my Family Member to another facility, because they closed! And she had only been there for two weeks!! Had we inquired about their State Inspection records, we would have been informed of their failing inspection records!!

I'll not recommend it for anyone. Especially if that person needs some personal help. It was terrible. If you just want someone to make the bed and cook for you it might work. Don't expect anymore than that.

Unprofessional and non compassionate I DECIDED TO PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN AFTER TOURING THIS FACILITY FOR MY MOM. WAS TOLD BY SALES PERSON MORE LIKE A CAR SALESMAN THAT A NURSE WOULD ASSESS ON SPECIFIC DATE. NURSE NEVER SHOWED. CAR SALESMAN TYPE PERSON NAMED [name removed] IGNORED MY CALLS AND EVENTUALLY SAID HIS NURSE WAS IN ORIENTATION. SHE WOULD DO A FACETIME AT A TIME SCHEDULED. SHE NEVER DID. WE CALLED AGAIN AND HE SAID NURSE WOULD COME OUT NEXT DAY. NURSE ASSESSED AND SAID MOM WASNT SUITABLE FOR MEMORY CARE WHICH WE KNEW THIS AND RESERVED A ROOM FOR ASSISTED LIVING. THEY RAN MY CREDIT CARD AFTER THE FACT AND NOW BLOCKED ME. THEY ARE LOOKING TO FILL MEMORY CARE BEDS BECAUSE MORE MONEY. PERIOD. I AM A PMHNP-BC DNP [removed] I HAVE BEEN IN THIS FIELD A LONG TIME. THE RESULT OF WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NON COMPASSIONATE. I WOULD ADVISE EXTREME CAUTION IN PLACING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE.

After 2 months at the facility office staff called and wanted my dad immediately removed after a disagreement with another gentleman in memory care. We had no where safe within my home to house him from wandering off which is why we waited 5 months on the waiting list to get him in. We thought this would be the home for his remaining time with alzheimers and 3 kinds of terminal cancer and a place for hospice to make him comfortable. Nursing staff was kind as was front receptionist. Office staff absolutely horrible!! They kept our $[removed] deposit, demanded we remove him immediately (which police explained to them it couldnt be safely done) and wanted us to pay an additional $[removed] a month to administer meds he doesnt need so he would be a sleeping zombie. The entire point of a memory care is to keep people from wandering off, not to take money and then leave families high and dry for end of life care. I have never heard of a facility so [profanity removed] that they kick out a dying man.

I never thought I’d be celebrating hospice services until today. Mom was moved to a hospice respite. This after three weeks of ER visits, calls to say she (89 years old with Alzheimer’s) is a “danger to self and others”calls to tell me she was not taking her meds, combative, not eating or drinking. Is memory care not trained to deal with these behaviors since they are most common with Alzheimer’s?? Do not believe that the have special memory care staff training.. LW’s response is to send the elderly to a geriatric psychological ward. I know this, not because anyone ever met with me in a care planning meeting or answered my multiple emails or gave me anything in writing to assist me with these difficult decisions as mom’s POA, but because today- at hospice, mom was happy. Mom took her meds, ate everything she was offered, was pleasant and content. Mom was treated with respect and dignity. Ask about visitation. Please ask questions and get policies in writing prior to admission.

This is not a "place for Mom". Very often her items are stolen and she's left in dirty diapers not in her own clothes?? She's often not showered and anything I try to bring to make her "area" nicer for her turns up gone. The other residents living in memory care including men are allowed to go in and out of her room and other people's rooms. She's not happy here and we are looking for much better memory care for her. The staff say that all memorycare places are like this but have found this not true. I have not been able to just go visit Mom so far without having to shower her or change her sheets or look for her own clothes !

Our experience with Greenfield of Williamsburg was a very bad one, and I would not recommend them to anyone. The staff here is very friendly, but unfortunately they just do not have the training they need to do the job. When we moved her in initially a mix-up with the paperwork meant not only did I have to give her her medications for the first few days, I also had to double check everything they were giving her to make sure the medications were correct (which they were not a great deal of the time!) At one point I typed out a detailed set of daily care instructions to help the aides out, but I had one come up to me and tell me she didn't read English well enough to understand them and asked if I could repeat them to her out loud. I moved my loved one out after a week, I honestly did not feel that she would have been safe here for much longer than that.

I would not send my loved one here. They told me it was going to be a certain price, but then after all was said and done the price was WAY higher than what they had told me initially. It is not all inclusive pay, so there are a bunch of add on fees.

Don't go here. My loved one has been on his own, taking care of his own medication, showering, etc. All they do now is laundry. For months now they have said they would move him to the lowest level of care. They haven't done so and are still charging for the higher level of care that he does not need and is not receiving. The care and the staff are very poor here. They are way understaffed, and the staff are rude. The food started out okay but has really gone downhill. You used to be able to choose off a menu, and now you just get what you get, whether you like it or not. It's just a bad situation all around, and not acceptable.
