Brookdale

The people at Brookdale Avondale take very good care of me. I will be 100 years old soon and while I am not sure how much longer I will be around, I know that the people here will take good care of me. I have traveled to many places in my life and seen many things. And I am glad that my children found this place for me. Even though I do not see well anymore, they keep me included in the activities. I get to call bingo and the other residents say that they enjoy it very much.

We’ve been extremely happy with Brookdale after a bad experience at [removed]. She had a bad UTI they mistook for “bad behavior” and asked her to leave after a long hospital stay. Of course Mom wanted to go home, but it just couldn’t be. Brookdale to the rescue. She loves her room at Brookdale and she loves the staff. The biggest thing is that she feels SAFE and she is. UTI’s are caught early and treated. Every person there engages with the residents. The food is good and they have monthly “themed parties” for family members to come and enjoy meals with their loved ones. They have a resident cat that is adored and visiting dogs.. All rooms are monitored and the residents are free to go anywhere they like in the facility. Residents can be autonomous or receive help as needed for dressing, toilet etc. They have plenty of activities and my only wish would be getting my mom to participate more. We visit often so are very aware. She is Safe and cared for..

My mother had lived in various assisted living facilities and her care seemed to be falling through the cracks. The staff turnover was horrendous and every few months a new group of care givers were learning what my Mom needed. Then I found Brookdale Harbor Bay! Most of the staff have worked there for years…several for 10-15 years. This facility is dedicated to memory care so Mom can wonder and explore the entire facility instead of being locked down in one small area. Mom loves living there and everyone is so kind and caring. The family of residents are indeed treated like family and Brookdale often hosts special lunches and BBQ’s for all of us to gather together. The nursing staff is quick to discuss changes in Mom’s status and the business manager works quickly to resolve any insurance issues. I feel like we are all part of a large team supporting my mother. Despite the residents varied physical and cognitive challenges, the staff is incredible at designing engaging activities.

I visited Brookdale first and it's services sounded so good I chose it without visiting others. I would recommend to others.Send us more residents.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Lexington and most everything was great for her at this facility. The move-in process was efficient. The facility was very clean. The staff were very good. The head nurse even accepted phone calls on his mobile phone after hours and on weekends. The other residents seemed content. My loved one said that the food was okay, I never tried it. Overall, I would recommend Brookdale Lexington to others.

I really feel like the people there care about the residents. And they have been very friendly and open with me. I am comfortable having Dad there. Another comment I would make is that I really like the size of the community. It is small and everybody working there is familiar with all of the residents and their needs.

The staff is very friendly and helpful at Brookdale Foundation House. The dining staff really spoil you. The maintenance staff is prompt about needs and even brings your packages to your apartment from the front desk. The apartments are spacious with lots of storage. Families are notified of important information by email. I would recommend Brookdale Foundation House to anyone looking for senior living.

My friend likes the food and I like the fact that BT does 30 days of physical therapy/exercise instruction with new residents. My friend is getting stronger and has better control of some of her health issues.

Well my mother has been at this memory care for the last 7 months and during all that time she had no complaints whatsoever. That is a great testimony that at Brookdale you can rest assured that your loved ones are well treated and well taken care of.

I am very happy here at Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes. The staff is friendly and caring. I attend social events, gatherings and happy hour on Friday afternoons. I give meals, activities and cleanliness 5 stars!

My wife and i have been to several places with both her parents, and have had some less than stellar experiences. Now we are going though it all again with my 94 year old mother. We thank our lucky stars we found Harbor Bay. The accommodations are wonderful, clean and bright. They have a nice, cozy tv room, a great comfortable dining room with a view of Gig Harbor and two tv’s, and a cozy “living room” with a tv. The chef is very accommodating and will prepare special meals on request. They have activities every day for those who wish to participate, and participation is encouraged - they know the residents need to get out and move! The staff is very committed and highly competent. The executive director is top notch. You wont find a better place for your loved one.

Very knowledgeable ofnexts steps for me. Including guidance, tour of facility. Meet with some residents and staff. Sales manager [name removed] has a wealth of knowledge and shared several of her contact information with me. I feel like I now have e a clearer path in this journey

Everything has been just fine, there is nothing I wouldn’t rate 5 stars! The friendliness of both the staff and the residents is wonderful, and having a welcome ambassador was lovely. I am very pleased!

Well maintained building and surrounding gardens. Beautiful area for residents to have their own garden. Activities available for all who want to participate. Happy that my family helped me find this location.

The staff here is wonderful. Only have about a month and have nothing but raves about the facility, food and service.

The executive team and the care team provide excellent care for their residents. They truly care for the residents like family. The tenure outweighs turnover, by far! I would recommend them for my own mother.
