Brookdale

We are so happy our mom lives here, and she is thrilled, too. She says the menu has something for everyone, and the food is tasty. The staff is delightful, polite, and knows residents' names. They know what you like and makes suggestions.

My Mom moved to The Colony in January from another facility. Her transformation is profound! They keep her and her room, bedding, and clothes clean and fresh smelling which is a welcome change. The staff is very friendly and helpful to the residents. They go out of their way to ensure that Mom and the other residents are clean and engaged as much as possible for people with memory issues. The executive director is amazing and it shows that elder care is her passion!

Awesome facility wish mom could stay there but she’s been diagnosed with dementia. Great loving and caring staff. Everything about the facility met or exceeded my expectations! Location was very convenient with convenient access to Halifax hospital and doctors office.

Administrative help to get Medicaid. Gentle staff with laundry, housekeeping, meals well prepared by [name removed].

I’ve lived here for 4 weeks and absolutely love everything about it !! The staff is very helpful and happy. They all are very accommodating to our needs and treat us all very special. I have a studio room and am amazed how in my room i still have lots of space, even after my queen bed and big dresser , plus a recliner and a queen Anne chair, plus a few other pieces of furniture are all in the room. There are many fun games, water aerobics in the pool, exercise classes and many fun games going on. Plus we have singing performers coming in to entertain us also. It is easy to make friends here. I would strongly suggest anyone to take a tour of this place if looking for Independent or Assisted Living situation.

The way I see it they're are slow to respond to the patient needs high turnover, and they charge for every little thing

It took 3 years for my Mother, to finally come to the conclusion, that it wasn’t safe for her to live alone anymore. My siblings and I,worried constantly about her, after Dad passed. When she finally made the decision to go to an assisted living, she chose Brookdale Goodlettsville. She actually has a life again! She’s happy, has friends, loves her apartment that she was able to decorate, and is finally @ peace. She is not afraid anymore. The staff is precious! I haven’t had any complaints from her about a single person!!! I see them love on her all the time!! They are kind and compassionate. She has activities to choose from every day, and keeps busy. I gave a short review when she first moved in. She’s been there since [date removed], and it’s been great for her overall mental, physical, and emotional health. I do recommend you check them out if the need arises. I love that this facility is one level as well!! Ive never had any issues with communication from the staff!

My husband has been at Brookdale for approximately two months. His care has been excellent. He enjoys joining other residents walking in the hallways, listening to guest musicians and vocalists, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. He loves the food and sometimes eats extra servings. When I have expressed concerns about medications or missing remotes or clothing, they have been addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. Staff genuinely care about the residents and families.

When our mom was no longer able to live on her own we knew we needed to make a decision. We contacted A Place for Mom and by the afternoon we had several places recommended to us. After doing thorough research we decided Brookdale Brea was the place for Mom. We are so happy with our decision. She is so happy there. Everyone is so nice. It’s not too big so she doesn’t get lost and she has acclimated so well. This was a Great Decision for Mom.

My mother moved to Brookdale Cape May at the age of 102! Her room is a miniature version of her home where she lived for the last 20 years. The staff is exceptional. Moving from her own home at 102 has been difficult for her but Brookdale is the right place for her.

Our friend moved here. He’s really become part of the community. He was living alone for several years. He’s made a lot of friends and this community has lots of family events we can join even though we’re not his family. Grounds are well kept.

The staff is very good and friendly with a nurse on staff. The staff will call family about any issues with a loved one. My mother likes the food that is prepared for them, but says somedays she doesn't want to eat so much. Overall, the housekeeping is acceptable. I just arrived to see my mom and everyone knows my name, so yeah I would recommend the facility.

Felt the staff was capable and compassionate for my father's situation. I believe the environment is safe and secure. I am very hopeful that his behavior and his quality of life will improve while being in the community.

My mom passed in January, I was thankful that she was at Brookdale for her last months. Many of the staff have been there for years. That says a lot. Staff and residents were like an extended family.

Placing our mother in Memory Care felt like we failed her, the guilt was tremendous. Brookdale Memory Care of Monroe WA made mom feel loved, wrapped in friendship by the other residents. She had interactions throughout the day that were beyond what we could have provided. Music, gardening time, art, and many other activities she enjoyed with residents and staff. Alzheimer’s and dementia patients are special people with special needs. Brookdale Monroe really honored that trust.

Such a great place. Entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. Moved mom in with ease. She says food is the best. Plenty of senior activities. Being a one story building is a great perk as well. No dangerous stairs or elevator to deal with. Highly recommended.

My mother-in-law was in a rehab because she fell broke her leg. At 90 it's was very hard for her to recover. So the family knew she had to go into a assisted living, she needed help to function each day. I called A Place for Mom to see if they could help me find a facility. Well, they were very helpful and understanding. After many calls we decided to call Brookdale in Niskayuna. [name removed] was so kind and helpful. It worked out very well, she is doing better, gets lots of help and loves her studio. We're blessed.

The staff truly care about their residents. Prior to coming to Brookdale, my brother was at an Adult Family Home and the care there was absolutely horrible. The care team at Brookdale have treated my brother with kindness, love and respect. He is thriving. Although he has Alzheimers, he has gained back his zest for life and his happy personality. He's is happy, well cared for, and safe. We are so thankful for this team.

I recently moved into Brookdale University Park and have found it to be most welcoming. The staff and residents are extremely friendly. The choices of programs and activities are good. The meal selection is excellent and the food is most delicious. Again I must mention the staff who are very helpful and professional. Overall, I think that I will be very happy living here.
