Merrill Gardens

We really loved Murano. It was like living in a fancy boutique hotel. The staff and other residents were very sweet to my mom. Overall, we just loved it loved it loved it. My mom found community immediately. The other residents were so welcoming and invited her to join in their activities, of which there were many. My mom especially loved the food, and my husband and I joined her for meals there regularly. We had a couple small hiccups, but with assisted-living that is to be expected, and they were remedied very quickly. I would highly recommend Murano to anyone who's looking for independent senior living or assisted living. I have already sent several of my friends there, and I intend to live there someday myself.

Our tour of Truewood was pleasant, especially the two people with whom we interacted--- [Name Removed], who led our tour, and the young lady at the front desk. The facility seemed quite nice, perhaps a little darker (less light) than some others we have toured. Each facility has its highs and lows. We continue our search for a place for my aunt, and Truewood is one we would consider.

My brother is in Assisted Living with Level 2 care. He was level 3 when he moved in a year ago. We made some adjustments that weren’t needed. Overall I think it is a wonderful place to have your loved one. It is always clean and well maintained. The residents and staff make up a variety of cultures. They recognize and celebrate them all. The staff are friendly, helpful, and patient. They offer lots of activities in house and outside of the facility to choose from. There is always something going on to keep them occupied and entertained. The food seems to be delicious. They have a variety of menu items to choose from. They provide housekeeping weekly. Any issues that we have had as a family have been addressed immediately. My brother doesn’t engage in the activities like I would hope but he is comfortable and safe and that is what’s important.

The evenings and weekend there is no nurse. They have med techs on. They basically can check your bp take a temp give you a band aid or your meds Food is great. Not institutional. Although they need more servers sometimes they only have one person handing out food and it takes a long while to get your meal Also you have assigned seats in dining hall..so you always have a place. But my dads table mate is not friendly so he is not engaging in conversation like other tables are I had hoped they would be more encouraging with getting residents to join activities. But my dad is a bit introverted and wont just show up. Figure out a mens related activity for them to join Its a shame but it is a bit cliquey with residents...i think women will have a better time adjusting and meeting people Although the facility is clean..sometimes it smells in the hallways...but they do keep up with it...doesnt last very long The sales people present living there with a bit of rose colored glasses. I do see the manager and the admin stafff engaged on the weekends or with evening activities I think they could do a better job onboarding new residents.. You feel like you are bothering people asking questions .just not clear on who to reach out to The Bayada staff they have on site for nurse and pt/ot are superb. They will text or call you even in the weekend if you have a problem or question

Very professional, attentive and experienced. Monthly Instead of buy- in 2 bedrooms are quite large. Lots of amenities included. Definitely expensive. Food could be improved. Common to have orders wrong or not brought at all. Great location.

The MGWP staff is very friendly, and when we needed to move Mom from assisted living to memory care, they were very helpful, supportive, and kind through the process. Our family would definitely recommend MGWP to anyone looking for a place for their family members.

Depends on what you're looking for they have a lot of activities. Everyone there is friendly. The food is relatively good most days.

The staff and residents are very friendly. The food is not great, but that is to be expected. I would recommend this place. Overall it has the best value of the places we toured. The turkeys and deer on the grounds are delightful.

There were a few hiccups the first 2 months , but they worked with me on them . You really need to be on top of the care of your loved one . The food is not that great and activities and not reliable

We liked the public rooms and quiet spaces. Two friends of friends (who are residents) had lunch with us but we could not hear them because of the overwhelming noise in the dining room. We were not shown an apartment because they are all occupied. The rooftop terrace and garden is very appealing.

Staff is very friendly and helpful Many activities for everyone. Food is pretty good. Cleanliness is excellent. 2 bed room is good size. Bedroom could be a tad larger.

Activities are good for the residents....

The first thing we noticed about The Pines of Newmarket was that the residents were out and about the building. In many facilities that we have visited, residents are sitting in their rooms or even have their doors closed. The facility is one floor, which makes moving around easier for our Mum. It was obvious the staff knew all the residents, and the residents knew the staff. You have the option of using the furniture in the room or you are welcome to bring in your own. You may decorate any way you wish, which makes it feel a lot more comfortable.

Our overall impression was the facility is a clean well run operation. The staff is friendly leading residents to daily activities.

On a scale of one to five, I would give Truewood a four only because the food wasn't up to my mother's standards. Otherwise, everything else was great! The main entrance, living area, dining room and other first floor amenities are very nice and appealing. The apartment size was nice with a really large closet and nice views from the windows. My mother especially liked the overhead heater in the bathroom. The rooms were clean and bug free, which was a plus. She was also pleased with her caregivers and felt they were attentive to her needs. Truewood offers a selection of activities and even brings in entertainment from the outside. My mother enjoyed the church services and Bible study while she was there. Overall, Truewood is a nice place to live.

Nice experience - St. Patrick's day event, music, soft drinks, munchies. Most attendees were residents, just a few visitors like myself.

Property is great, and community is wonderful. Their biggest challenge is the efficiency of the dining hall and kitchen operations. They need to reduce the excessively long waiting time for residents to be served their food for all the meals throughout the day.

Very smart, well lit and nicely curated atmosphere throughout the facility. The living areas are smaller than I expected but more than adequate in quality. The people are the greatest asset. The staff in the memory unit are people that anyone who hope to know. Our tour provider was both professional and caring in every way.

Their refund of funds for remaining days left in the month is very poor ( only used 4 days of the month and truewood kept 20% of monthly fee, charging residents for renters insurance is wrong. We would only recommend this community to others if the family is very hands on and vocal for their family members. Garden House has very loving invested care givers. They are about their guests. Management doesn't have the same attitude.

One thing that was very disappointing was no assist with transportation to drs appointments. We looked at another facility that believed did do that. I live in NJ so that has been an issue. My other brother does live in PA so does handle a lot of transportation.
