Brookdale

Five Rating - I like the management. The staff is good. The food is good. I like my apartment. I would recommend it to others. We need more residents. Many activities are offered, but often only a few show up. This has to be discouraging to the activities director. They are doing a very good of providing variety, and volume. Facilities are good too. There is on-site, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and hairdressing salon available. Including manicure/ pedicure service. There is also off-street secure underground parking. Apartments are modern, I have 18 foot ceilings. Transportation is offered weekly, and staff will help for special trips

The room is comfortable, with a great size and a large window. The shared bathroom is nice. The staff is caring, attentive, and accommodating, making for a positive experience overall.

I moved here six months ago. There are lots of activities here if you like to stay busy. I enjoy the art classes, jewelry classes, and exercise classes. There are talks about the Native Americans from this area, mental health, the ocean and its occupants, birds native to the area. Many of the talks are given by people on staff from UC Santa Cruz. You can learn sign language, do the giant crossword, trivia, scrabble, play card games. Music is brought to enjoy several times during the month. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is very good. There is transportation to doctors appointments. There are scenic drives on weekends. It is a great place for older people to live.

It’s a very friendly place, everyone is so welcoming! I’m so impressed with how fast everyone learns who you are and anticipate your needs! I’m so glad the perfect apartment for me came available at just the right time!

Basically the care, staff, food, activities etc. are all rated 5. I would recommend anyone looking for assisted living care for their loved one, this place is excellent. Everyone is treated like a family member. Not just the residents, their family as well!

I am very impressed with the staff at Brookdale. They make sure the patients are taken care of yo the best of their ability. The activity directors are very helpful and they have a great understanding of the patients.

It was very easy to navigate to get an appointment. Moved up my mom's apartment when her previous facility shut down without warning. Staff is friendly. Clean rooms. Move in went well

Very clean and welcoming. It felt like coming into a cozy well cared for home. The model unit was beautiful and the common spaces were appealing. The front porch was particularly welcoming.

Overall the staff were very friendly and outgoing. Especially accommodating with trips. A lot of check in's with you to make sure all was good. Every meal had choices whether it was on menu or off menu, no problems. Lastly, residents were quite friendly.

Everything stands out. From the executive director to the nurses to the aides and kitchen staff. Everyone is kind, knowledgeable, and really care about their residents. They are super hard working and very responsive.

Brookdale in Monrovia was wonderful! My mother enjoyed her stay (she was there for a couple months to recuperate after a bad fall). She really raved about the food and the staff, and enjoyed chatting with the other residents. She also really liked the outdoor area.

The facility is well maintained and the staff and residents have been welcoming. My dad has settled in there and he is very comfortable and enjoys his room, the convenient location of the building and the accommodating staff.

It was an incredibly easy transition for my mom and she is so happy there. She's meeting people, eating well and the staff has been welcoming and responsive. Apartment is perfect size for her needs. The indoor and outdoor spaces are welcoming and well-maintained. She loves all the choices of amenities and that she doesn't feel pressured to participate when she doesn't want to.

We relocated my mother to Brookdale Lakeway from out of state last summer. She had resided in an assisted living community for four years before moving to Brookdale, and we were apprehensive about how she would adjust to a new state and a new community. The staff at Brookdale Lakeway could not have been more kind and accommodating. They listened to our concerns and questions, and were most accommodating. Our mother has adjusted well and is happy and content in her new home. The staff has been attentive and has provided compassionate care. They helped her get involved as an active participant in the activities and life of the community. We are so grateful that she feels she is part of the Brookdale family. The staff is responsive, supportive, and kind. We have peace of mind knowing she is being cared for so well.

I visited the building with the Sales Manager [name removed]. She was friendly and passionate about the people in her building. Some of them came up and gave her hug and followed us on tour. She showed me around the building and we even saw the people that lived there doing exercise class. The building was clean, lots of care staff, and a good energy.
