A very nice/clean environment. Friendly staff. Plenty of inside/outside sitting areas. A variety of activities to keep busy through the day.

Overall it has been a good experience. [name removed] is thankful for the help she gets with showers. Housekeeping staff keeps quitting and so changing her sheets and cleaning bathroom is not enough. Her initial orientation to the community was dismal. No one welcomed her and we had to keep asking for someone to come talk to her about how everything including her care needs would work. It was so disappointing. But, a year has gone by and things are going better than we ever dreamed. [name removed], who is blind, has loved the independence she has. Such as, scheduling her hair and nails to be done and simply walking across the hall for her appt. She goes to many activities and has made friends.

It's a nice facility but there are staffing issues. My mother has been a resident for 3 months and has had her apartment cleaned 4 times by the staff. (It is supposed to be cleaned weekly.) My sister and I have had to fill in when we visit. We do like that she has her own washer/dryer in her room, the food is good and there are a variety of activities for her to participate in. Overall we are pleased with Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living.

I moved my mother into Palmilla Senior living facility in assisted-living with a level 1 care and medication management in June 2024. She was previously in an independent living facility out of state with a hired care giver. The transition to Palmilla was smooth and [name removed] was ideal to work with. My mother has moderate dimentia and is getting very good care there and she’s getting her meds on a consistent basis. I moved her the Albuquerque to be near me. So far, the staff and nurse assistants have been taking great care of mom, they are very friendly and she feels at home there.

A few bumps at first but overall the facility is beautiful clean and has everything our mother needs to be comfortable and well assisted. Plenty of activities for residents to do. The staff seem to know each resident personally and notice each individual’s patterns. They assist in getting them to meals if they don’t arrive on their own. They have laundry service cleaning hairdresser and have even taken our mother to Dr appointments.

The Dir of Nursing has a heart of gold. My mother loved her. Excellent. Her name is [name removed] . Nursing and med techs are dedicated and cared. Mom did not want to be there at first and they won her over. I stayed there on occasion and I was impressed with their responsiveness.

This is a great place for individuals who are looking for independent living - recommend strongly for the elderly that are very independent. Staff is overwhelmed. Sometimes it takes 1 hour to get caretakers attention especially at night time. Nurse was terrible but she's been replaced since. New nurse is better. The place is beautiful and lovely place to be in. But value for service is not good. Activities and dining hall are good. Excellent Dining service. The ratio between residence to caretaker doesn't follow state guidelines. They always come up with excuses that someone is sick. I don't think they manage their scheduling properly. Very disappointed in that area.

There has been a lot of turnover of staff in the dining room, and the meals have not been as good as expected. They are working through the issues, but it seems to be taking a while. This is my mom's only complaint/negative about the place. Mom has recommended three people to move in there. Two of them are already in and love it, and the third is on a waiting list. So overall, it is a great place for her to be! She really does love it there.

The overall experience has been positive, but it takes a while to become comfortable with mates. The community is very clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I'm independent, but they get a 5.The staff are helpful with answering questions and getting help when sought. I usually eat dinner only... so personal so my likes are the only response 4 Dinners... they try. The activities are a 5 plus. Very good and fluid and responsive to patrons and I think the value for cost is fair.

We chose Creve Couer Assisted Living mainly because of the price. [name removed] (the head of nursing care) is wonderful. Cleaning of rooms is not up to par and Medicine administration is inconsistent based on time of day delivered.

Overall nice place. Seems to be a lot of turnover and generally short staffed. Yes I would recommend this community to other families. They were just taken over by new management. They are definitely doing their best....very easy to work with

We were very pleased with the welcome we got from staff! The rooms are large compared with many places. Extra nursing levels are charged if needed. Meals are very appetizing and are more comfort food than gourmet but very pleasing. The community has family meals once a month and they are a lot of fun (such as brunch, Olympic game night, corn roast, etc.) Lots of activities and friendly residents. We are very happy with our choice of this community.

The meals and dining gets a 3/4 only because they've had a lot of issues keeping staffed in dining; good quality varies. My mom only participates during meal time when it comes to activities, she enjoys socialize then. But otherwise, she loves her apartment. The value for cost is hard to say. This is our first experience. Overall, we're very happy. This transition is never easy, but I think my mom is happy where she is and so are we.

Overall, experience was excellent! The facility was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful. Even with when [name removed] had issues with his cable and phone. Due to the lack of mobility, [name removed] couldn't make it down to the dining hall for meals or to any of the activities. The staff tried to visit with him as much as they could since he was living there by himself and could not get out. The staff brought his food to him in to go containers. I wish it could have been on a regular plates. It was hard to see so many to go containers in the garbage for someone who is dying. Unfortunately [name removed] had a stubborn side to him and visions of being able to get around when he got there didn't happen. This is the place he chose but needed more care and attention than the staff was trained for. All in all, the facility itself and staff were great. Under the circumstances, I think more personal research should have been done on our part for facilities that would've been able to give [name removed] more personal care and companionship. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to do a lot of research and visit other facilities that may have been able to give him what he truly needed. This is no reflection on the Gardens at Ocotillo. They did the best they could.

Need more food options. Based on the experience we would recommend this community to other families

My experience has been wonderful. My only criticism would be with the dining experience. My criticism is mostly from feedback with my Mom. We do, however, realize that getting good dining staff is an issue everywhere in this industry and they are working hard to get better staff. But other than that I have been very pleased.

The staff and caregivers have been very friendly and helpful. Residents are given the freedom to wander around a bit and socialize but they are in a completely safe environment and can't get past securely locked outer doors.

What they can improve on overall is their communication, they could use more of it. However, based on the experience we have had so far and with those improvements we would recommend this community to other families.

There seems to be a huge problem with keeping staff. Not just lower level staff but higher. They have had 2 or 3 directors in the 2 years he's been there. They went without washers and dryers for the first year because no one on staff reported them being broken. It's been frustrating dealing with that. The first activity director walked out one day telling them she was moving to Florida. The second one showed up drunk and was let go. The people that keep their jobs there seem friendly enough. Hard to understand why no one seems to stay. My dad has settled in well and has made friends and knows the workers that come and go. Maintenance issues are a problem. Their electric front doors were broken for weeks with no reason why they weren't being fixed. As the kids watching their dad spending his last days somewhere it would be really helpful if we all felt a bit more at peace with the daily goings ons there. He has friends, some are happy about that. It seems he pays an awful lot to not have full staff.
