Brookdale

The room is not always cleaned regularly and when it comes to the meals the food is not too good sometimes. The extra care added charges are pretty expensive. However, I would recommend this community to other families based on my experience so far.

Brookdale of Punta Gorda, Florida is a small Assisted Living facility located in Punta Gorda, Florida. They have only 43 units and they are in demand. The caregivers, nurses, maintenance, marketing folks, and administration are like family. Their turnover is slight as they all consider this Brookdale facility to be a great place to work. They treat all of the senior residents like family, offering cheerful assistance at every opportunity. They genuinely care and take pride in their reputation. My wife's mother is 95 years young and though it was a struggle getting her to give up her condo and move close to us a year ago, she now considers it to be a great move. She enjoys the staff and the other residents, and she is busy as ever with activities.

Mom is very happy there. There is a little drama but not too bad. She has many friends. I would recommend to others.

The staff has been very supportive and takes great care of my mother. I trust she is in good hands. My mother is normally a home body and she has made friends and LOVES to come out for all the meals!

From our first visit to tour Brookdale Trail Ridge we were impressed. Walking the halls we could see that a lot of time and love went into giving it a homey feel. It smelled like Christmas. The entire facility is for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s. All residents are allowed to walk throughout the home, inside as well as outside. There are 4 “neighborhoods” and each neighborhood has specific staff assigned to them. Kitchen staff to serve 3 meals a day, cleaners to change bedding and to straighten their rooms, and care givers to help them shower. Familiarity is important for people with Alzheimer’s and they work hard to keep the staff consistent. The staff are trained how to talk to people with Alzheimer’s. They literally treat the residents as if they were their own grandparents. When one of them says something outrageous that obviously isn’t true, the staff doesn’t argue or correct them. They simply say “Oh is that right?” Or “wow that’s amazing”. This leaves the person feeling good and diminishes any reason to be upset. During the 15 months that our father was there we slept peacefully, knowing that he was well taken care of. There were some bumps in the road, he had his share of trips to the hospital because he refused to use his walker. Luckily each time was minor and he was sent back the next day if not the same day. One thing I want to mention, due to dad’s condition we decided to sign up for Hospice Care with Assisteo Hospice. Having a nurse who came once or twice a week to shower him, check his physical condition, and to be another familiar face gave us more peace of mind. Each one was great about calling when there was a problem, often they would call just to touch base and let us know how dad was doing. Two of the nurses, [names removed], were with him during his last 6 months. They snapped selfies with him and sent them to us. On his birthday they showed up with balloons and a decorated birthday cupcake. Dad really loved those two. Even when he began to forget some of our family’s names, he always remembered their names.

My mom is doing great at Brookdale Chandler Ray Road! The staff is friendly and has been available for immediate needs.

I just love the Brookdale Wilton community. They took wonderful care of my Mother in Law. The staff was always very friendly. She really enjoyed living there. I had also recommended them for a relative's mother.

I love the friendliness of the staff and how they care for my mom. She feels comfortable and safe.

I'm in Independent Living so #4 isn't applicable to me. I really love this place. When I lost my whole family in 2021, I came here under the impression that I was moving in with a family, but that didn't happen, I was placed in an assisted living facility until I healed enough to chose to live here. Even when I was thinking about going back home I looked for a Brookdale facility!

No one can beat this place. Words can't express what they do. truly angels that work here. Food amazing, staff loving and friendly. Lots of happy smiles and healthy residents in the hall ways all the time

I feel that adding one or two more staff (CNAs) would bring everything up to a "5". We love Brookdale Centre Pointe Boulevard . The nurses on staff are wonderful.

5 on everything - We are very happy with Brookdale, however sadly, mother took a fall & is now in the nursing home...Brookdale was great. Based on the experience we had we would recommend Brookdale Shreveport to others.

They do a good job with keeping residents calm. They try very hard. The food is bland. I know that is probably for a good reason as everyone diet different. They accommodate my mom well with alternate choices. The staff are very hard working and have a great attitude.

My interaction with all levels of staff has been very positive. I interview I believe 9 assisted living facilities with wife and sister, we all agreed this looked the best, And haven't been disappointed yet. We would recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far.

The perfect place for independent living with all the amenities that you would need

This is a really helpful place. I was able to get out of a power chair that I had been in for over 5 years and now I am using a rolater and walking. The staff is really loving and supportive. The room size is okay for me. I would like it to be bigger for my cat, because he is getting restless. The amenities suit me fine! I have back and hip trouble and enjoy having things done for me.

The overall experience is amazing and the community is always clean. We absolutely loved all the staff and they are very attentive to the residents. I think overall the meals were very good. The activities were inclusive for all. The cost was worth it. To say the staff was amazing is an understatement, the fact that they treated us and our dad with dignity, respect, and kindness meant the world to us. Dad had his favorites for sure, and they seemed to love him as well. I personally cannot thank everyone enough for the experience. I will always cherish the memories. I have recommended the facility to some of my friends who were looking for a place for their loved one and I will continue to do so. Again thank you all for what you do and did.

I have been touring communities for a family member that needs AL with minimum care. After visiting 6 communities, Beckett Meadows is number one. Not only is it a very clean inviting community, you are welcomed as soon as you walk through the doors. Staff and residents are greeting you. Activities are going and the residents are smiling and happy. We stayed for lunch and my oh my, one of the best meals ever. Not only did the food taste amazing, but the presentation was beautiful. I know my family will be calling Brookdale Beckett Meadows home very soon.
