I met Perfecto in May of 2012. He came to our Senior Center to perform and told the audience about the services Magic Touch provided and the staff from Magic Touch was there as well to answer questions about the home care services they provide. We were all very interested in what he had to say and we have his brochures available for people and we also have his ad in our monthly newsletter. Perfecto sings and has a fantastic "One Man Show". The seniors love him and the warmth and trust he has for others is clearly noticed by all. He sings songs that bring joy to everyone. When he meets you the first time you have an instant respect for who he is and what he stands for. I would never have a problem recommending Magic Touch to anyone.

I chose Senior Helpers because I had a connection with the owner, Rod. We got to talking and he made me feel good, they are hands on with their company. Senior Helpers has done everything they said they would. Their rates are comparable with similar services, and they are a little cheaper in some respects; we were surprised by the expensiveness of the industry on the whole. As far as activities go I haven't seen that they do a whole lot, but that may be my loved one not wanting to do much of anything. They brought over people to meet my loved one before starting which we really appreciated.

AllCare Associates is a small company, I chose them because they weren't so commercial. They took time during the placement interview to get to know my mom and her needs (kind of like a dating service) and matched her with the right caretakers. They keep everything very clean; the aides and director are very friendly.

Overall, it's been good. The only complaint we have is that we hired them to work with both my dad and mom, and they haven't helped my dad with his physical therapy exercises. My dad is being slightly difficult, but they haven't seemed to push him to do them. Other than that, we have had a really good experience.

We had someone come to sit with my mother-in-law before she was admitted to the hospital for a month. I don’t remember the young lady’s name but she was a very kind care giver. My mother-in-law really liked her.

Cornerstone has been very good and supportive. My issue is the cost, $[removed] a day for four hours adds up quickly. I realize there are benefits to going through a company. They make sure you have someone every day. I did not qualify for any benefits, and I do not know how much longer I’ll be able to pay $[removed] a month. I do not know how much Cornerstone pays their caregivers, but I was told it is not near $[removed] an hour.

Staff was professional, curteous and responsive at all times. The caregiver assigned to my mother provided excellent care up until the time of her death on [date removed]. I highly recommend this agency.

After trying out a few of their workers problems involving scheduling, I have settled down into a routine that meets my needs. I would imagine that any person would want to interview the helper to find out if they have the experience and energy that a helper would need. This franchise is rather new and is run by an energetic and dedicated owner. I pay $[removed] an hour and use my helper 9 hours per week I don’t know what the helpers are paid, some kind of benefits I believe, I have Parkinson’s and my helper can do most anything that I need, but I would imagine that everyone has different needs and different schedules. Overall, I give it a B+.

This company seems to have issues hiring reliable staff. They have been very nice and most do a good job. The main person that I've had is late pretty much every day, as much as an hour. Sometimes I feel like the insurance company is being milked...people working beyond end of shift after I notify them that shift is over or they drag their feet completing tasks to make a shift go into overtime to complete tasks. This person makes end of shift beyond her hours. There's really not much to do.

Home Instead worked with my family to find the best staff for mom. The home health aides we have are wonderful. I never have to worry when I am away from home, knowing mom is in good hands.

The care services depends on the experience of the particular caregiver and it is on the expensive side. They are really easy to set up. Very responsive to my concerns, ability to fill staffing gaps. Very nice and considerate care workers.

They did a good job. On time, professional, friendly. Yes we would recommend their services to others

She gave me a chance to use her agency. Because I had called another before this one and someone answered the call and said it was only for rich people...It disappointed me. But I didn't give up. Looking for the right agency! Which was Rosy Health! Thanks so much in confiding in me!

We really liked [name removed]. She always found things to clean and help my mom. She took great care of my Dad and supported my mom so nicely. I had to request the schedule weekly to see what openings I needed to fill. I wasn't always told if changes were made to the schedule so that made it tough. They told me several times that it was difficult for them to find people that were willing to travel to westbrook.

I have a dog and one of the aid was afraid. Their reliability and punctuality is always on time. With the ease of care while it is great to have tons of care takers. Interview took some time. A lot of email and phone calls. Wide range of costs.

What we like the most about their services is that they are timely and do what the caretaker is asked to do. We feel that the price is too high for what the caretaker does, but then again it is probably worth if asked to do more. They are always prompt when I called. Especially last minute.

What we like most about their services is the flexibility with scheduling and nurse [name removed]. [name removed] was absolutely wonderful. Yes, we would recommend Home Instead to other families.

It would have been all 5's, but the last lady to work with my mom showed up as she was having a stroke. Thank God my sister was there too. The care giver kept saying she didn't know what to do, and didn't even want to be there. Not very professional to complain about having to work in front of a client, let a lone when the client is having a stroke.
