Juniper Communities

My sister has lived at Juniper Village at Forest Hills since 2018. I have spent 40 years in the health insurance industry and we used to evaluate nursing homes. I have been in a thousand nursing homes and the level of care, the communication, cleanliness, efficiency and customer relations component is the best that I have encountered. The staff is accessible and responsive. Everyone is proactive rather than reactive... and I am happy with everything at this community. I would highly recommend them.

My mother has lived at Juniper Village for nearly three years. Just last week, she told me that she thought she was in the best place possible. I agree! All the staff are warm. friendly, and cheerful. They are patient and caring. Now that I cannot visit my mother, they water her plants for her and do for her all the little things I used to do. They pay close attention to her pain control and remind her to keep drinking. They gave her excellent care after she broke her hip last fall. I am grateful for all they have done for her, and I am very pleased we chose Juniper Village.

Juniper Village at Forest Hills has been a god send for our dad! We often say we could not have selected a better place. The staff is incredible. They truly care for their residents and do their utmost to make the residents feel at home. The team has consistently gone above and beyond what we had expected. We can sleep well every night knowing or Dad is where he is. I often say to my friends and family that we are so lucky to have dad living at such a lovely place. I would recommend Juniper Village 100%% !!

Our mom has been living at Juniper Village at Forest Hills for about a year and a half. The staff has been good to her. They make her laugh - and she certainly makes them laugh!! They know what she likes and doesn't like and she gets such great care. My siblings and I are so thankful that we found Juniper Village at Forest Hills when she needed it.

Thank you for all that you and your staff has done to keep our loved ones safe during the COVID Pandemic. You have done a miraculous job!! I'll never forget the first conversation I had with you 3 years ago when we were beginning our search for a community for our Parents.....you were exceptionally giving of your time, objectivity and wisdom on what we should consider when choosing a facility. Our Parents have been at Juniper Village at Forest Hills since 2017... and we could not have made a better choice!! Thank you for all that you do!!

Placed my mother there over a year ago-best decision I have ever made. She loves her new home- the staff and care is exceptional! Her days are filled with stimulating activities and great food. We couldn't be happier!

My 80 year old mother has been a resident of Juniper Village for over 2 years now. We looked at about 4 places on the east side of Pittsburgh, and like most people we were overwhelmed with the decision. One of the main factors in the decision was that although the base rate was a little more than the other places, additional care services were less expensive. It has been a good partnership. The staff is caring and compassionate. [Name removed], the sales person, was very matter of fact and did not try to sell you on anything which I appreciated, and answered all our questions. [Name removed], the director, is very hands on and accessible and will send out voicemail messages to all contacts whenever something unusual happens at or near the facility that may cause you concern for your loved ones. Two examples that come to mind are when there were protests happening in the local area, and another time after a storm induced power outage. [Name removed] has been very reassuring to me that they will give my mom good care as long as possible as she suffers from Alzheimers, and I was paranoid about the possibility of getting a surprise notification that she would need to be moved to another facility. Another superstar that works there is the nurse, [name removed]. She is so attentive, relaxed and easy to work with. At the time we moved my mom in, the facility had two doctors that would come to the facility. We ended up using [name removed] because we needed a UPMC affiliated person, and my mother loves him. One of the things I like about Juniper Village is that it is not huge. I want to say they have something like 85 residents in a 3 floor building, which is situated at the end of a road and along a creek. It is an attractive, clean, modern building with nice landscaping out front with a sitting area out front that is used by residents in nice weather. There is no courtyard. A nice feature of Juniper Village is the number of onsite services. As mentioned the doctor comes to you. A podiatrist visits regularly for foot care. There is an onsite hairdresser. They have physical and onsite therapy available as well. They have a regular slate of varied activities that would seem to appeal to a wide audience. The activities director [name removed] is a warm and caring person. Some activities that I recall: an Elvis impersonator comes every year, they have varied church activities, movies, crafts, games, exercise classes, Friday happy hours etc. They have occasional off site field trips to places like the Frick. And my final remark is that the staff has been very nice about trying to help us keep our expenses low. They found a walker for mom when she had trouble walking. They found a wheel chair for mom when she was unable to walk. When mom looked like she needed a higher level of care, they didn't charge me until we were sure that she would need that level of care for the long term. And I don't want to forget to mention the receptionists [name removed] and [name removed] who are always very cheerful and helpful.

Our Mother has lived at Juniper Village at Forest Hills since [date removed]. We have been very satisfied with the management team, but are especially happy with the care department. All of the aides are very attentive. They are very fun, upbeat and have a great attitude. She definitely gets excellent care and attention...and they treat her like family!

Thank you to all of the caring staff at Juniper Village at Forest Hills who give of themselves each day......so my father can be happy and safe. Your unselfish care is truly appreciated!

Dear Juniper Village at Forest Hills, Everyone in our entire family would like to thank you and your staff for the kind and considerate care you have provided to our mother. It's comforting for us to know that in such unsettled times, our Mother is safe and well cared for. It is a testament to your management and to the quality of your caring staff that the community remained virus free during this pandemic. And for that we are eternally grateful. Thank you!

I just received a virtual tour on Facebook from Daylesford Crossing. Seeing the community again brought back such nice memories. My dad lived there for just over 18 months before he passed. I always intended to write a review to them, but never seemed to have the time. Now that I am quarantined at home, I seem to have nothing but time. Daylesford was like a life saver for us. My dad was not easy. He had dementia. He lived at another facility prior to Daylesford who asked us to leave because they couldnt manage him. Daylesford was great right from the start. They took the time to learn about dad and helped him through the adjustment period of getting used to a new place. The staff was extremely patient with him and seemed to not be bothered by things that the other facility struggled with. They got him involved with a group of men that he really liked. He took part in activities there that I never thought he would. I have peace knowing that my dad died happy. he enjoyed his life at Daylesford. He did not enjoy the other place at all. I thought it was just his condition that made him unhappy. Once we moved him, I saw that it was possible for him to be happy again. I give Daylesford all the credit for that. Its amazing to me how different the facilities were for right around the same cost.

My mother has been a resident at Juniper Village at Forest Hills since 2019 and we are very pleased with her care. All of the staff members are very pleasant and friendly. The management team is very responsive, and the communication is excellent!! They always return my calls, answer all of my questions and are always accessible. I would highly recommend Juniper Village at Forest Hills to other families who may be looking for quality care.

My mother who passed away a few months ago, lived at Daylesford Crossing for three years. It was such a positive experience for her and for our whole family/. We are so grateful for all the friendships she made there with the other residents and with the people who work there. caregivers, waitresses and housekeepers, managers, every one was so wonderful to her. Before she moved in, she was spending most of her time at home in front of the television and she wasn't staying in touch with friends (many of them have died). Within a few weeks, she made new friends and they became very close. Towards the end of her life, she needed more care and they were very attentive. I'd recommend Daylesford Crossing to anyone. I miss visiting.

Both of my Parents currently reside at Juniper Village at Forest Hills. My parents had a hard time finding a community that was able to accommodate a husband & wife in the same room. Juniper has 4 apartment sizes, three of which are large enough for couples. When we first visited, we were so impressed. The community was clean, it had a nice smell, and the workers were all friendly. Since their admission, we have been very happy with the services from all of the departments... and we would highly recommend Juniper Village at Forest Hills to other families !

I greatly appreciate the care that Juniper Village has provided during my stay. The staff has provided kind, sensitive help, tailored to my unique needs. I have enjoyed making new friends, as well as being engaged with exercise classes and numerous daily activities. Juniper Village has helped me make a smooth transition into the next stage of my life!

You have always gone above and beyond with her care and with accommodating our family. Juniper Village has far exceeded our expectations for my father. The number of activities, outings and social events are incredible. The staff and community of seniors are so nice to him and he truly enjoys the quiet beautiful setting. He walks 2 miles every morning on the walkway throughout the community and enjoys sitting on his front and back porches. He loves the outings (especially the ones to get ice cream). We are so thrilled to watch him thriving at this stage of life!

We toured this facility and were blown away with the cleanliness, kindness of employees, attention to detail, and knowledge of staff. We feel so much better knowing that when the time comes, we have the perfect spot to place our aging parent. She will love the warm and caring environment that awaits her at Juniper Village.

We placed my grandmother here when we noticed she needed more assistance with overall care due to her Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. We were thoroughly pleased with her care. The staff were amazing and her quality of life was better. I couldn’t have been more happy to visit my grandma with my kids here.
