They're very friendly and make it a point to send out welcome cards to say hello. They have Happy Hour where they come by with beverages and chips and things. Before the pandemic, there were more activities and social opportunities. Before that, everyone got together a lot downstairs. And they still have a lot going on. There's an activity book where you can sign up for different activities. There's an art class, and they just had an art show. There's live music occasionally, especially in the summer. There's a food truck there at least once a week, and they also provide a flyer for a place that delivers/caters food. It's a great value and a great location. It's a relatively new building, and it's quite stylish. The apartments are very well done, and for that price in that area, you absolutely cannot beat it. Everything is nearby, yet it's tucked away on a culdesac, so it's quiet and has great views with lots of greenery around it. They have a great pool, and a library, a beauty salon, a little office, a workout room. There's valet trash service if you choose to use it. The kitchens are really dynamic - it's a full kitchen if you like to cook. They welcome pets. It's a really nice place.

There's really not that many activities to do, and I know Covid is playing a part in that. I understand Covid has made it hard on them. They're having a hard time keeping staff right now, from sales to maintenance. I love the place, it's nice on the inside and everything. The location is great, all my doctors are nearby, there's a grocery store and a Walmart nearby, no complaints there. Most of the people are pretty nice. There's just not much for us to do right now. It was my understanding that we were supposed to get a hot breakfast, but that's not been the case. It's been just a box of cereal, or a little muffin. Activities are lacking, not really anything going on except for happy hour one day a week (we get two beers and a bag of chips) and bingo twice a week. They took away our basketball goal. I do give the activities director credit for at least trying.

They don't have enough garages, plenty of carports but only 11 garages for the whole large community. Everything else is good. I like the convenience, and everything is close by. You have the Highlands right across the street. At my age, everything is really convenient. They gave me a really great deal on my place too, and I got to lock into that price for 2 years. I can't complain at all.

Very impressive facility. Good amenities but seemed limited for number of residents

We chose Overture Chapel Hill because it was a brand new facility and she was familiar with the location that it is in. She moved from out of state so she wanted someplace she was comfortable with. The apartment sizes vary a lot in size. Hers is 604 sq ft, so it is small but adequate for her needs. There are always different things going on activities wise, so they have a lot to offer. Overall, I would recommend to others looking and already have.

It's a great first transition for a loved one leaving their home. The amenities are fantastic. The care from the staff was amazing, and they focused on the health and wellness of the residence. My father passed there they took care of food and were very supportive during the grieving process. The community feels like home.

We chose this facility because of the affordability, the location because it convenient to doctors appointments and grocery shopping, and they had availability. The only downside of Somerset is that the building itself is dated, it needs some TLC. They do also provide a bus service that takes him to and from errands. One of the things I would want people to know is to ask if you want or need something for your apartment, they are very accommodating. I would recommend to others looking.

The building itself and the rooms are nice, modern, and have a good layout for the residents. The food they serve would be about a three out of five and we would recommend this community to a family or friend.

For this area, this was the best value for our money. The staff are really friendly and treat the residents and their families really well. They are personable and have good communication. I would recommend this community to others.

My parents don't like food. The staff is pretty good but communication could be better. The room sizes are good. They offered all kinds of activities, they have a theater, puzzle room, art classes, games to play, and they got to go out before covid started I would recommend this community

FaceTime tour of the facility with [name removed] on [date removed]. It was an excellent tour and gave a good sense of the building and the amenities. Currently at ~30% occupancy. An attractive option for independent 55+ apartment living.

My father is a resident there and enjoys it a lot. He is active all the time. Whenever we speak, he tells of a recent class or of the book he is reading for the book club or he is on his way to a social activity. He is definitely not staying in which I love! I'm especially relieved that with the pandemic that they have residents follow strict safety guidelines. I'm happy that he is happy!

Things are not they way they used to be because of COVID, but everyone is doing the best they can. At the moment we still are on somewhat of a lock down. Before COVID they had church services, bingo, porker and even had line dancing. I mostly cook for myself, or order out. If this community does provide food for us, its typically catered in. I like the apartment i am in now, but unfortunately they were not able to do the walk through with me. I do wish there was more consistency when you would move from one apartment to the other.

I congratulate the staff for their success in keeping the residents safe and comfortable during the period of confusion brought on by the pandemic. They showed creativity and concern to keep us well and cared for.

The Sommerset Community is an excellent place to live. They are 100% always supporting their residents and provide for all their needs ad possible! Every staff member is highly qualified and provide for the wellbeing, happiness of all their residents! Sommerset Community provides an excellent bus service to take residents to stores and doctor appointments. Their driver, [name removed] , is very considerate of everyone's needs and is patient to provide the time the resdients need on their trips.

The employees are excellent. The food is fair. The building is showing its age. The activites and entertainment is good.

Sommerset is very welcoming to residents, families, staff, and those who serve us. They know our names and provide us with quick answers to our questions or repair needs. They offer many activities, card groups, and on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies. They provide meals in the dining room or to our rooms. Birthdays are celebrated once per month. We enjoy our porches for relaxation. It's a pleasure to live here year after year with reasonable rent, and I plan to continue to enjoy my home here at Sommerset.

I think the meals are great. I would like more options other than chicken but the quality is good. Housekeeping and maintenance are great. Front desk, I couldn't complain about anything - so helpful. Bus service is great.

Sommerset offers a small community where most everyone knows each other. Staff are reasonably responsive to residents' needs and requests and have done an excellent job of dealing with the current pandemic problems. Sommerset offers a moderate range of activities, including outings with transportation, full dinners, and a la carte lunch is available. Food is good is a little starchy. Sommerset is moderately priced, a rarity in this otherwise expensive region.
