Continental Senior Communities

Everyone has been exceptionally helpful. The size of my apartment is good. It was tough downsizing but it needed to be done. Once I can get everything put away all will be well. Storage in main bath is slim but we'll get that figured out.

Mom loves cherry blossom senior living! She is in their independent living in a cottage, and she feels like it's a spacious house. She just loves it. She goes into the main building to go play bingo, other games, happy hour, and occasional meals. She is very happy. The only downside I can think of about cherry blossom is all of the surrounding construction, but I know that is temporary and should subside after I'd say a couple years. There is a nearby grocery store, the food at Cherry blossom in the main building is really good, it's a convenient location to many places.

Ashton Grove is impressive. Feels very "Homey" and welcoming. Very clean and spacious. We did not sample the food but neighbors have been really impressed when they were there visiting a loved one. The staff we met seem very friendly and helpful. Might be a little more expensive but is very impressive.

[name removed] has been fabulous. She answered all my questions showed me the facility all with me popping in without an appointment. I know I lucked out with her availability, but still. She was most helpful and I got to see their interaction with some of the residents. I feel very comfortable and am looking forward to trusting dad in their care so he’s not living alone.

Definitely 5 stars. I had great consult with A Place for Mom and had a comparison list of 5-6 homes in the area we desired. We did the research at least 3 years before the "time to Move Mom to a personal care facility". We visited all and had consults and Ashton Commons and one other were top choices. Again, we had to do the move in a hurry - and [Name removed] at Ashton Commons has a team that makes the flow go smooth. Highlights of staff/Facility: - Rental apartments with tailored plans for personal care requirements - On site Pharmacy and Medical staff - Immaculate cleanliness. - 5 Star dining with careful thought in Senior Dietician needs. - Multiple Senior Activities daily

The facility itself was clean, and well maintained. Almost everyone we met was friendly and had a smile on their face. I will say the apartments themselves were a bit smaller than a previous community I had toured but well layed out and the cost was comparable.

The staff was superb and professional for our tour. The facility is the nicest one we’ve seen and feels like a high end resort. I think living near MSU would be especially nice due to the liveliness of the area.

A bit too expensive. fun activities, food excellent but way too expensive and not included in rent. Pet cost way too high for kitties. Nice residents.

We had to get my dad out of an apartment and into assisted living in Short order last summer. From the moment I walked into Highgrove and met [Name Removed], it was a wonderful experience. The entire staff from Highgrove treated him and my family and his friends is that we were family. Unfortunately, he passed away Saturday and the last month was under a combination of Hospice supervision and private assistance that we used to overlay the wonderful medical care coverage provided by them. I cannot say enough good things about all the amenities, the cleanliness, the personal attention and care that they provide. I would list the names of the personnel, but I am certain I would leave some out, but I assure you that they all were wonderful, loving, patient, understanding and provided comfort for our family, knowing when we weren’t there that he was still truly “at home”. Thank you again!

This was a beautiful facility and everyone was so nice. [name removed] was very informative and thorough. The facility was clean and organized. The memory unit was better than others we toured.

What we like the most about Ashton Commons community is that it is extremely clean. Everybody is so incredibly nice and they really do try to work with the residence to make them feel completely at home.

What we like the most about the community is the friendliness. They are bringing in a new food service company in February.

Good size room and close. The staff was very nice and supportive. Several activities and games and also a prayer chapel. Beauty Salon and outdoor patio.. Food was average.

The facility is beautiful and makes you feel almost like you're staying in a resort or nice suite hotel that is laid out on a single ground floor. If you didn't know, you could barely tell this is an assisted living facility. Everything is maintained and kept up beautifully - from soft furnishings to devices, from carpet to wallpaper - and always smells very fresh and pleasant. Housekeeping staff do an amazing job - the place is almost always spotless. Dining room is nice with lots of space and is usually a hubbub of conversation - we love that the residents all seem very welcoming and social here. The food is pretty cafeteria-standard, nothing to write home about, but the seniors here seem to appreciate the basic, no-frills menu. However, there are typically 3-4 specials offered during each meal, so the residents have a LOT of variety in their diets, and there's a Happy Hour from 4-5 each day when family members can join residents in having a drink and snacks. It's one of our favorite perks! The administrative staff is absolutely wonderful and responsive, and the monthly rent/fees is one of the most reasonable in the area ($[removed]a month for standard assisted living, no special needs). Paid services can gradually be added in a la carte, which is also awesome, and the rates for those are also not unreasonable. There have been occasional miscommunications with nursing staff and aides - for instance, shower assistance might be requested for a specific time, but the aide might show up an hour later when the resident is no longer available. Or calling the family because the resident can't be found...but that's because we've checked him out per protocol from the main reception desk - which the nursing staff can't see unless they walk all the way up to the entrance multiple times per hour to check. This is a great opportunity for the facility to provide nurses and aides with tablets or some other technical devices to assist with up-to-minute live updates on the residents. Activities/meals are clearly communicated weekly with calendars distributed to each resident, a TV with the offerings and other upcoming events in the lobby, and announcements. The activities are enriching, and there are frequent resident meetings for residents to suggest additional field trips and activities, menu changes, and provide overall suggestions for improvements.

The Red Cedar Lodge facility is relatively new and beautiful. The common areas are thoughtfully, decorated and spacious. The apartments are spacious as well and well laid out. Our contact person, [name removed], was extremely gracious, professional, and informative. Additionally, she was very generous in the time she spent with us touring the facility and introducing us around. Observation of the other staff members showed them to be pleasant, interactive, and interested in providing an excellent resident experience. This includes the nurse practitioner who covers the facility as well as the heads of OT, PT, and speech therapy. We're currently in process LSU record of presenting this to our 98-year-old perspective resident. We greatly appreciate what the Red Cedar Lodge has to offer.

The staff were wonderful and caring. The facility is pleasant with a "homey" feel. I would highly recommend.

After visiting other facilities The Ganzhorn did not have the same feeling of a nursing home/memory care place like the others. Felt comfortable and homelike. Have felt very comfortable having my mom there. It is definitely worth the cost with as caring as they are for my mom's needs and health.

Mom wasn't there long enough to enjoy much activities, although what I saw looked great 5 as well, lastly. A 4 as this facility is fairly expensive compared to other facilities She fell so in love with Red Cedar her first thoughts were to sell the house and go native to the Red Cedar!

Cherry blossom is a beautiful facility from the moment you first walk through the doors. Everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful while my sister was there. They have all kinds of activities, something for everyone. The staff was very attentive to my sister's needs.

Every one we have met are very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend them. Again all of the people that work there are very helpful and friendly.
