During my stay I would rate the staff a 5, very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size studio, my only problem was the a/c heat vent blew the cold air right toward the bed. The room was well furnished and stocked with incidentals. The dining room was well maintained and the staff was great. The food was well prepared and portions were good. Everything was kept very clean. The cleaning staff were courteous and friendly. The actives were lacking. They were often not well organized or well attended. The exception to that was the music specials and some of the evening games (trivia night etc). My problems...I had a guest for dinner several nights. The menu in the beginning had no prices and when they changed the menu to include prices it didn't indicate how to pay. When checking out they gave me a bill that made no sense. It included a total cost for meals and extra care. It took several phone calls to reach accounting. I asked for an itemized accounting of the meals and I was disputing the extra money for care. I asked for a written explanation of the difference between levels of care. Neither one was provided. The charged my credit card over $[removed] extra for care. With lack of communication from them I eventually disputed the charge with my credit card. Without explanation they did not dispute my claim with the credit card company. My other problem was that they ordered a refill of my presurgery prescription without my knowledge and did so with an outside vendor instead of Kaiser which I had listed as my pharmacy. I received a bill from the pharmacy which was a lot more than I would have paid at Kaiser.

Some elevator issues. At least 1 down all the time, and you have to really talk nice to it for it to take you up. Parking garage door has the same problem. Very attentive staff. Would recommend.

The Culinary and Food Services Department, led by Amy Lebrun, also deserves extraordinary recognition. Planning, ordering, preparing, serving, and cleaning up after three healthy meals a day, 365 days a year, is a monumental undertaking under any circumstances. Yet Clearwater’s culinary staff faces an even greater challenge: serving residents from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, each carrying lifelong memories and preferences connected to the foods they grew up with and loved throughout their lives. Attempting to satisfy such a broad range of tastes and expectations is, at times, nearly impossible. And yet Amy and her team continue to work tirelessly with grace, professionalism, and cheerful determination. Even when occasional complaints arise — often from residents who understandably may not fully appreciate the complexity of the task — the staff continues to smile, serve, and care. That quiet professionalism deserves recognition.

Particularly remarkable is the Memory Care Department, which serves approximately 28% of the resident population requiring continuous 24-hour supervision and specialized care. Under the beloved leadership of Asuka Smith, Clearwater has created an environment where residents suffering from memory impairment are treated not merely as patients, but as valued human beings deserving safety, dignity, affection, and respect. The love residents and families feel for Asuka and her team speaks volumes about the quality of leadership and care being provided.

There are moments in life when words seem inadequate to properly express gratitude. This is one of those moments. On behalf of the residents and families whose lives you touch every single day, I want to extend heartfelt appreciation and admiration for the extraordinary work performed by the entire staff of Clearwater Newport Beach Assisted Living. With approximately 90 employees serving more than 100 resident apartments at nearly full occupancy, the scope of your responsibility is enormous. Yet what makes Clearwater truly exceptional is not simply the services provided — it is the spirit in which those services are delivered. Many residents affectionately refer to you as “our angels.” Speaking from personal experience, even that description feels insufficient. The care giving team, under the outstanding leadership of Alex Valle, performs work that is physically demanding, emotionally taxing, and profoundly important. Nice staff, clean rooms, and a well-maintained property. The environment feels comfortable, safe, and welcoming. The dining options are good, and the restaurant staff are always friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the staff throughout the facility are consistently kind, patient, and very helpful.

Very nice facility with all the services we are looking for. Colette was a great tour guide and gave us a lot of information. The only negatives are no true outdoor space, the apartments are on the smaller side and the price is high.

5 in every category. Very happy my wife is there. I recommended to other folks dealing with the issue. Staff at every level are great. Caregivers are very good at making sure [name removed] is well fed and entertained. Very happy with my selection of Clearwater.

This is a great place. The staff are all vary compassionate the place is clean. The food is good and the apartment is plenty big enough..

Units have our “must haves”; full kitchens, washer dryer in unit. Cost is competitive. Physically it is light & airy with lots of communal space. Top of our list.

Everything about my tour was excellent! Lots of activities, beautiful facilities, delicious food, fun excursions! Every aspect was incredible!

You can stop your search for your assisted living facility. Here at Clearwater you find the most positive mental attitude among the residents. As in the three bears story, this place is “JUST RIGHT”. The atmosphere is continually full of life with all the amenities. The apartments are so efficient for each ones needs, the entertainment is ongoing, the physical activity is efficient for each ones needs, the food menu is healthy and varied. Don’t pass this opportunity to come and join a staff that is continually there for all your needs immediately with an added smile and genuine support. Welcome home!

Everyone is very friendly and kind. It is a beautiful facility, good healthy food, nice bright rooms and gathering spots. My mom liked all of the activities and the gym. They could walk down the hall and go to physical therapy which was great for them. One area of improvement would be to make sure the little call button works and that you have an employee available to help when the call button is pressed by a resident in need.

My mother-in-law suffered a stroke two years ago and was diagnosed with progressive FTL dementia. Her care needs have escalated significantly in recent weeks, due to a serious injury and recovery stay in a nursing rehabilitation center. My husband and I have researched dozens of care facilities in Austin – from our very first visit, Clearwater Senior Living stood far and above any other. We were hoping to find a place for our mom that provides the nurturing medical, physical, and emotional care that she needs – and we found it in Clearwater Senior Living. [Name removed] Senior Sales Director has been an absolute angel for our family – she even came in on her day off! and gave us a full tour since we were traveling from Houston. [Name removed] and the Clearwater team have already gone the extra, extra, EXTRA miles to help us navigate this complex and emotional transition with tremendous professionalism, kindness and compassion. We are beyond grateful!

The best part for my dad was that he can go down and order the food he wants like a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are so many choices, and he never has to eat cold food (unless it's meant to be served cold). The administration staff is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They paired him with an ambassador that invites him to activities so he's included. Also cleaning staff is amazing, they clean his room once/week and even change the sheets.

All of the staff are kind and helpful. The food is excellent. It is very clean. Administration is first rate. They are expensive.

[name removed] (sales) was excellent and gave us a wonderful tour and experience. She made my dad feel welcome and put us at ease that he would be well taken care of and happy at clearwater. The food is also excellent!

Definitly a place to consider in my hunt for a place to move to as i become more uncomfortable and feel less safe living alone. The accommodations are very nice and the staff very friendly to be around.
