Nothing serious. A small missed commitment here and there. I.e. offered help assembling a new table was forgotten. For the most part staff is friendly, and puts good energy into a small in-house events. I live at Cascades Of The Sierra along with people who have moved from there and can't find anything good to say about it. On the other hand, my brother has talked to several people living there and are very satisfied. As is he. Like he said, "someone who has experienced hard times can really appreciate living here." No complaints from him, or from me.

Though Brookdale wasn't ultimately the best facility for my mother, due to her cognitive decline requiring her to move to a small group home, Brookdale is a wonderful facility with an incredible staff. And I couldn't recommend it enough for anyone who is independent and looking to age in place.

When Dad decided it was time for Assisted Living, we toured several places. Upon walking into Brookdale Niskayuna, we knew this was the one - it felt right; like home. Dad has been there for almost 4 years now and has been extremely happy. He partakes in daily activities, has made many friends, is well cared for, and feels safe and secure. Knowing how content he is brings peace of mind to me (his daughter). The staff are wonderful and the lines of communication are always open should there be any questions or concerns. Kudos to Brookdale Niskayuna for doing an outstanding job!

My only disappointment was that if I put my mom at your location after the 18 months was up, she would not be able to transfer over to Medicaid where the other location that I ended up going to was willing to do that so that is the only reason I did not choose your location. I do wish maybe you could do some upgrading to your building as well, but the staff was amazing and [name removed] very friendly.
