Avamere

Love, the staff and feel of Avamere at Bethany. Very welcoming and very 'homey'. The grounds are beautiful and private. Nice views out the Dining Room and rooms. We like the emphasis on Assisted Living for our Mom. She needs the focus and extra care that Avamere appears capable of providing. We had to move Mom quickly and Avamere bent over backwards to work with us and make things happen. They were awesome! The aides are professional, friendly and really on top of things. The food is very good -- not restaurant quality -- but definitely a B! Would like to see more activities available, but understand that this is pretty much driven by the residents. Everything is clean and fresh smelling. We have toured and visited a lot of facilities and believe this is the best choice for Mom.

Avamere took good care of my mom, and overall we had a positive experience. She enjoyed the food. The facility was clean, and her room was very spacious for the price. The staff were caring, kind, and treated her with compassion. One area that could be improved is housekeeping, as her room was not cleaned as often as we would have liked. Overall, we appreciated the care my mom received and are grateful for the kindness shown to her.

I enjoyed the tour and it looked like the residents were well cared for. It was very polished. It didn't feel family like, and I wanted a more family feeling. The pricing was straight forward but I was uncertain about their point system.

I found the place to be clean and nice. I was impressed with the activities offered. Rooms were of adequate size and well laid out.

Things have greatly improved since my last contact. Staff has changed and they got a new chef?? Stepmom is finally happy with the food being served.

The staff is friendly and cooperative. I would recommend them to others who are searching for care for their loved one. They represent a good value in a very expensive market.

The staff are nice, but Dad thinks they hate him. But that is probably in his head. They could be a little better trained with medical devices, such as oxygen. I know they are not supposed to provide medical assistance, but plugging in a portable oxygen concentrator upon return from dinner is pretty easy.

The community is very clean and pest free, two big checks in the plus column. The staff is polite and attentive and good at communicating the staffing issues they have been running into.

They have a lot of higher cognitive individuals, so my dad can form relationships. They've also been patient for the most part to work with our unique situation while we kept having to delay his arrival due to the previous guardianship.

They do really well with holiday activities and make them joyful and festive. Their dining room has great hours and it has become a social hub for many of the residents.

Accommodating and food is good. People are very nice

I like the size of my unit lack of communication form management. Yes, I would recommend the community to others.

The staff is good...good communication the room she is is is big...you need to bring your own bed and things lots of activities and they try to include the residents...food looks ok never ate there but it looks edible. it is a smaller place and the price was better than some of the bigger ones...my fear was it being so big with [name removed] forgetting so much I think it would confuse her even more.

Adequate. Nothing stood out. I have a personally have an issue with odors in regards to retirement facilities. It smelled like an old folks home. This specific odor is depressing to me. Every one was nice and there appears to be plenty to do.

It is a really nice place. My brother in law seems to be quite content.

Overall a nice retirement home. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was small but nice and recently updated. Lots of convenient parking. Food served in nice restaurant style room however a number of the food selections were not very good. Also, they often were out of numerous food selections.

They are owned by new management and have not had WiFi available since just before I moved in here. Staff has WiFi but not us residents. We do, however, get TV service. Got a new chef along with the owners. I had no problem with the food before or after the new Chef. People get along just fine here. The countryside is beautiful. Trips are arranged to local shopping, restaurants etc. All in all it's quite a nice place

The staff and access to the care given was very helpful. The cleanliness and atmosphere was very inviting. I felt very pleased that my mother was there and getting great care. The experience made moving my mother there a lot easier on the family as we all had to travel to visit her but became an adventure we looked forward to!
